Advanced Placement
AP gives students the chance to tackle college-level work while they're still in high school and earn college credit and placement.
International Baccalaureate (IB)
The International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Program (DP) is a two-year comprehensive and rigorous pre-university curriculum leading to an IB diploma, taken in 11th and 12th grade. Successful IB candidates are typically granted college credit at the finest universities and colleges in the nation. Saddleback High School has been an IB World School since 2017 offering the Diploma Program, and as of July 2023, Saddleback is a candidate school for the IB Middle Years Program (MYP) for 7th-10th grades. Saddleback High School is not an intermediate school, but offers limited spots to 7th and 8th grade MYP students through a rigorous selection process.
AVID
Our nation’s schools are full of students who possess a desire to go to college and the willingness to work hard, but many of them do not truly have the opportunity to be college-ready. These are often the students who will be the first in their families to attend college and are from groups traditionally underrepresented in higher education. AVID Secondary equips teachers and schools with what they need to help these students succeed on a path to college and career success.
Project Lead the Way
By immersing students in activities like practicing suturing and constructing body structures from clay, PLTW Biomedical Science empowers students to build knowledge and skills in biomedical science, as well as in-demand, transportable skills like problem-solving, critical and creative thinking, communication, and collaboration.
